The time is 9:00 a.m. Rushing to catch a bus to get to work before 9:00 a.m. is an everyday thrilling scene. Finding a place to sit in the crowd makes the morning worthwhile. Every day is a new resolution moment, but I miss running after the bus because it keeps my body in shape.
Another day of chasing after buses to ensure I board on time. Fortunately, the bus captain got into an argument with another. A typical Indian highway scene. The bus came to a slanted halt on the road to block another bus. All I could understand was that the argument was about the bus schedule.
My mind was not racing with thoughts of being late for work. Instead, all I could think was, “What causes fights and conflicts? Is it for a good reason? or does it really solve the problem by frustrating the rest of the public?
Well ! but the truth is, disputes result from a need to satisfy one’s own desires, with no regard for long-term repercussions. Conflicts made sense if it were the solution to all of our issues. Although we desire, certain things don’t come to us. We begin to envy those who do.
Jealousy and envy breed hatred,
hatred breeds slander,
slander breeds spiritual murder,
When our intentions are filthy, those we desire do not come to us.
A desirous heart is comparable to that of an adulterer, always seeking more possessions even when it has already attained much. A desirous heart is double-minded, swaying in the wind to and forth. Now, which drives incorrect acts, resulting in clashes. Living in a culture that prioritizes instant gratification has led to a lack of patience and tolerance towards our inner desires.
James 4:10 says. Humble yourselves before the Lord and He will exalt you.
Even if folks and stories did not go well for you, God wants us to be humble and wait on him. God gets closer to us when we humble ourselves by cultivating a pure heart and letting go of all our selfish wants.
God has graced us with the ability to turn away from the desires that drive us towards the world.
To be humbles let’s turn our glee into plea.
